ORGANISERS of a popular Powys half marathon race are introducing a second, shorter distance this year.
The Ron Skilton Half Marathon takes place this Sunday, October 20. The annual event is held in memory of Ron Skilton, a former secretary of Green Events whose life was tragically ended by MND some years ago.
Ron had been a keen runner and cyclist and after his death it was decided that this event in his memory would be used to raise money for the MNDA.

In addition to the traditional half marathon course, which is a gruelling trail run featuring much of the Man versus Horse marathon course, this year organisers also have a 12k fun run which they hope may attract runners not wishing or unable to run the whole distance.
This event starts in Llanwrtyd Wells at 11am. Registration commences at around 9am.
Entries £15, either online at www.Green-Events.co.uk or £17 on the day.
Just enter and decide on the day at registration which distance you prefer to run.
