Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr MP Steve Witherden has been elected to the Welsh Affairs Select Committee.
The committee is tasked with examining the Wales Office's expenditure, administration, and policy, as well as UK Government policy affecting Wales and its relationship with the Senedd.
This marks the first time Labour has had power in both Cardiff Bay and Westminster since 2010.
Mr Witherden joins a team of around 11 members from across the political spectrum, including fellow Labour MPs Andrew Ranger, Claire Hughes, and committee chair, Ruth Jones.
The committee is responsible for deciding lines of inquiry and gathering evidence to scrutinise government departments.

Mr Witherden said: "I am delighted to have been elected to the Welsh Affairs Select Committee, as one of a minority of Welsh Labour MPs, and am looking forward to working with colleagues of all stripes to ensure the UK Government delivers for Wales."
He emphasised the importance of his position in fulfilling his campaign promise to stand up for Wales in Westminster and secure their fair share.
Mr Witherden said: "It is crucial for our border communities that the UK and Welsh Governments work closely together, something that has sadly been missing in recent years.
"I hope to use my position to help bring collaboration back to Wales-UK relations and deliver change for Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr."
