Some schools across Powys and the border with Shropshire and Herefordshire are closed today (Thursday) after heavy flooding hit roads.
Presteigne's John Beddoes campus and Leighton Primary School, near Welshpool are closed for the rest of the day, according to Powys County Council.
"The safety of our students and staff is always our paramount concern," John Beddoes shared on Thursday morning.

"Following consultation with local bus companies and other stakeholders, there are significant concerns regarding routes into and out of Presteigne and so for this reason we have taken the decision to close JBC today."
Primary schools in Bishop's Castle, Clunbury, Newcastle-on-Clun, Bucknell and Clun are closed due to routes to the schools being flooded. Bishop's Castle's Community College is also shut today.

Over in Herefordshire, Lady Hawkins High School in the border town of Kington is closed for the day due to no school buses running and lack of staff.
But several others have this morning confirmed they will be open to pupils including Presteigne Primary School and Newtown High School.
Parents have been told that Chirbury, Lydbury North and Norbury primary schools aim to open from 10am.
