Police closed the A483 between Newtown and Welshpool earlier on Wednesday.
Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that they have closed the A483 this afternoon (October 16) near Newtown after a vehicle broke down.
The road has since reopened.
There has been traffic chaos across the county today as heavy rain has led to localised flooding on the roads with Dyfed-Powys Police asking drivers to avoid the A470 near Llanidloes earlier today.

Traffic information in the area shows traffic is at a standstill near Abermule.
Dyfed-Powys Police have advised drivers to avoid that section of the A483 and to find an alternative route.
In a post online Dyfed-Powys Police said: “The A483 Newtown to Berriew
“The road is currently closed due to a broken-down vehicle.
“Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.”
