A dispersal notice has been issued by Dyfed-Powys Police in Newtown to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Police have confirmed that officers will be given enhanced powers to tackle anti-social behaviour in sections of the town.
The order came into effect as of 5pm this evening (October 15) and is set to last for 48 hours.
The new powers will allow officers to seize property and order people to leave.
Police have confirmed that the order will cover the area of Newtown East and Newtown skate park.

In a post online a spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Officers in Newtown have been given extra powers to deal with anyone involved in anti-social behaviour (ASB) today.
“The dispersal order, which is granted under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, will apply to all, including youths and will be in place for 48 hours from 5pm today 15th October 2024. It will cover Newtown East Ward and Newtown Skate park.
“Police officers and PCSOs will be able to instruct anybody who is causing or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to leave the area. They will also have the power to seize any property which officers suspect is being used to cause ASB.”
