THE case of a man accused of causing the death of another man in Powys by dangerous driving is headed for the crown court.
Mohammed Zahid, 28, appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 15, but his case was sent immediately to the crown court due to the serious nature of it.
Zahid, of Hutton Road, Bradford, is accused of causing the death of George Wilson on September 13, 2023.
Mr Wilson died following a road traffic collision on the A483 near Llandrindod, between Crossgates and Llanddewi.
It is alleged Zahid was driving a Ford Transit dangerously at the time.
Zahid spoke to confirm his name, age and address at Tuesday’s hearing, but did not enter a plea. However, his solicitor Owain Jones indicated Zahid will be pleading not guilty.
The case was adjourned and sent to Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, where Zahid is due to appear initially on November 12.
He was granted unconditional bail.
