A CAMPAIGN group against windfarms being built on Powys hillsides is headed to the Senedd this week.
RE-think is heading for Cardiff on Tuesday, October 15, to take part in the monthly ‘Market Place’ event at The Senedd. RE-think will be one of 11 stands at the event which will take place between 12noon and 2pm, upstairs in the Oriel.
RE-think’s sponsor for the event is the Members of the Senedd for Brecon and Radnorshire, James Evans. The group has invited all MS’ to visit the stand along with members of the public.
RE-think is calling for urgent reconsideration of how Wales works to achieve its climate change goals. It has warned that over-reliance on weather dependent and intermittent industrial-scale wind farms will ruin lives and livelihoods in many rural areas, de-stabilise the grid and increase electricity prices.

Jenny Chryss, RE-think’s campaign lead, said: “We are very grateful to MS James Evans for giving us this important opportunity.
“We have written to every Member of the Senedd inviting them to visit our stand. We welcome the chance to explain our views on proposals to build massive wind farms and associated overhead power lines across rural Mid Wales and beyond.
“Many people living in small rural communities feel overwhelmed at the scale of what is proposed.
“They also feel that these plans are being railroaded through, with little thought given to the effects on those living and working nearby. They feel they have no voice.”
