A Powys garden centre has raised £1,293 for Macmillan Cancer Support through a series of fundraising events.
The Old Railway Line Garden Centre announced that its most successful initiative was the Quiz and Curry Night on October 11, which raised £1,042.
The event saw more than 100 participants enjoying a night of trivia and homemade curry, all in aid of the cancer support charity.
The remaining funds were raised through a Macmillan Coffee Morning held a few weeks earlier.
- Fees introduced and overnight parking banned at Powys car park
- Powys drink driver left car in the middle of Newtown road after crash
- 70-mile diversion as A470 in Powys to shut for SEVEN WEEKS to fix collapsed road
Mark Cleary, founder of the Old Railway Line Garden Centre and quizmaster for the evening, said: "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community.
"The turnout for the Quiz and Curry Night was fantastic, and it's heartwarming to see how many people came together to support Macmillan Cancer Support.
"The charity does such vital work for individuals and families affected by cancer, and we're thrilled to have raised £1,293 to contribute to their cause.
"A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success."
The garden centre, located in Three Cocks, near Brecon, is an award-winning family-run business.
