A cemetery extension has been established in Hay on Wye.
The new cemetery in South Powys is a result of joint efforts by the county council and town council.
The extension was necessary as the original cemetery, which opened in 1875, reached full capacity.
The adjoining piece of land was developed by the town council, while Powys County Council will oversee its daily operation and maintenance.

Councillor Richard Church, cabinet member for a safer Powys, said: "I’m delighted that we have been able to develop a new cemetery, which will provide burial space for the people of Hay on Wye for over 75 years.
"This development would not have been possible if it wasn’t for our collaboration with Hay on Wye Town Council and the local county councillor, and I would like to thank them in helping us maintain this important service for the town."
Councillor Fiona Howard from Hay on Wye Town Council said: "The town council are very happy that the much-needed extension is now open.
"This is thanks to collaboration with Powys County Council and the hard work of all the councillors involved."
