THIS letter is not meant to criticise cyclists, goodness knows they get enough of that.

However I feel something needs to be done regarding idiots riding their bikes on pavements.

Last week I watched a woman riding up Park Street pavement in Newtown with her lights on, so self-involved she did not care pedestrians had to wade into oncoming traffic to dodge her.

OTHER NEWS:

This is not an isolated incident.

Indeed it seems cyclists are absolute laws to themselves.

However someone will get hurt soon enough so I am calling on our police to ensure if someone chooses to use a cycle as their mode of transport they are made to use roads.

These are the sorts of things children learn before they are 11 years old so surely grown adults can ride on roads.

If not walk like the rest of us.
