A POWYS chef is hoping to spread some festive cheer by reaching out to all food allergy sufferers who might be dreading their works Christmas party or eating out during the holidays this year.

The George & Dragon Inn, in Knighton, has released its Christmas menu, along with a special message to all food allergy sufferers.

“If you, a friend or family member has a food allergy or several, here at the George & Dragon Inn we specialise in allergy cookery and our Christmas menu can be available to all,” said the pub’s head chef, Malcolm Campbell.

Malcolm, a former state registered biomedical scientist, says he can even offer a private telephone consultation to anyone concerned about eating out with an allergy.

“I want to open the door to any children, men or women that fear going out for risk of becoming sick or worse,” he added.

“Here at the George & Dragon Inn we will tailor our Christmas menu to fit individuals who otherwise would not risk going out.

“We also have 4 en-suite rooms for allergy friendly getaways and I will personally take care of you the whole visit.”

In a time where great customer service and compassion for others seems even more difficult to locate, Malcolm is trying to raise the bar to incredible levels in the 100 per cent gluten and dairy free restaurant he manages.

The pub’s 3-course Christmas menu is available for £24.95. Main courses include traditional turkey, roast beef, glazed ham, salmon or a vegetable and vegan wellington, with sherry trifle, Christmas pudding or crumble for dessert.
