Powys pub pizzeria cutting opening hours – but not closing

However, Morgan Davies insists this is not an early sign that Knighton’s Pizza51_co will be closing permanently; rather it will just help him keep on top of all the orders.

Pizza51_co, which operates from the kitchen at the Golden Lion pub operated by Morgan’s in-laws, will now only be open on Saturdays, closing on Fridays until further notice.

“Hey everyone, we've made the difficult decision to temporarily close Fridays until further notice,” Morgan posted on the Pizza51_co Facebook page on Wednesday.

“This is due to an increasing workload during the week, and while I love making pizzas for you all, I'm unable to keep up with the demand.

“Please note that this is not a permanent closure, and I hope to see you all on Saturdays from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

“To ensure that we have enough dough for everyone, I kindly request that you place your pre-orders in advance. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”

In July last year, just four months after opening, Morgan made it to the final five of the UK's ‘Best Amateur Pizzaiolo 2023’ – and finished as a runner-up.
