Welshpool Rotary Club have welcomed a local author and councillor to one of their recent meetings.
Oliver Lewis, a Montgomery resident and town councillor, spoke to the club about his research on the Lymore Estate and the Herbert family.
Mr Lewis, who is also a member of the Royal Geographical Society thanks to his book The Orwell Trail, was introduced to the members by club president, Wendy Beaven.

Mr Lewis was thanked for his talk by club member Jeff Davies.
The club, which meets at the Royal Oak Hotel, also welcomed two visiting Rotarians from the Cheltenham Club to its business meeting.
Looking ahead, the club has invited Barbara Norbury from the Marie Curie charity to speak on Wednesday, October 9.
On October 23, Oliver Wynne Griffith will talk about his recent silver medal achievement at the Paris Olympics.
