A POWYS man will face trial next year after denying offences of assault, strangulation and controlling or coercive behaviour.
Benjamin Edward Williams, 42, entered not guilty pleas to all offences when he appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday, October 8.
It is alleged Williams, of Castle Farm, Sennybridge, near Brecon, committed assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a female on September 7 this year. On the same date he is accused of strangling the same female.
The controlling or coercive behaviour is said to have taken place over a 10-month period, from December 1, 2023, and September 8 this year.
Judge Catherine Richards set the case down for trial and told Williams this will begin on June 9, 2025. It is expected to last five or six days.
Williams was released and told his existing conditional bail will continue until the trial date.
