I sympathise with the views expressed by Roman Jones in last week’s issue regarding the contacting of our local MP Steve Witherden.

Not only has he failed to set up any local forms of communication with his constituents but he also fails to acknowledge or reply to any emails, of which I have sent five, on the subject of the cancellation of the winter fuel allowances which he supported in the Commons.

Having been in office now for nearly four months Mr Witherden should by now show more interest in the constituents he represent.
