It was inevitable that new houses would be built alongside the bypass in Newtown and with all the extra water run off and waste water that will be produced, we can but hope that Newtown Water Treatment works will be upgraded to take the extra load.
I have been carrying out water quality monitoring for the Angling Trust at a site in Caerhowel, the results were quite disturbing.

There have been sewage discharges at Abermule and that combined with what comes down from Newtown and further upstream will not help the poor old Severn.
The pollution of our rivers is widely covered on the media lets hope that, in this case, the right action will be taken.
