A busy main road between Newtown and Llandrindod Wells will be closed in both directions over the next two days.

Motorists will not be able to travel along the A483 between Newtown Bypass' Dolfor Road and Llaithddu from 9am to 3pm on Tuesday (October 1) and Wednesday (October 2).

Traffic Wales, the Welsh Government's traffic information service for the trunk road network, said the closure will come into force for roadworks to take place.

A 50-mile diversion, which is roughly an hour, from Newtown will take drivers along the A489 near Caersws then the A470 towards Rhayader before turning off for the A44 to Crossgates and then up the A483 to Llaithddu. The diversion will also apply in reverse.
