A bike shop in Machynlleth that moved into a town centre premises just over a year ago has announced that it will be closing this autumn.
Mach 10 Cycles announced on social media that the shop will be closing on Saturday, October 12 - just over a year after opening its Heol Maengwyn premises.
“Not a post I ever thought I’d be making, but Mach 10 Cycles is closing on the October 12 this year," owner Isaac Gibson said.
“Until then, we will still be open normal hours. Everything needs to be gone by October 12, so hit us up for a deal.”

After opening in Machynlleth town centre in June 2023, the business moved across the street into a larger premises in December of that year with the owner hoping the extra space would allow him to offer extra services and products such as E-bikes and rentals.
Owner Isaac Gibson first launched the business as a pop-up shop repairing bikes at the Dyfi Bike Park, but aimed to fill a gap in Machynlleth that was left by the lack of a shop to service bikes for over 10 years.

At the time Mr Gibson said: “I noticed there was a real need for a bike shop in Machynlleth, especially with the Dyfi bike park up and running. It’s a prominent area for cyclists but previously had nothing to service them. There simply wasn’t another shop offering those kinds of services between Newtown and Aberystwyth.”
However, the announcement that the shop would be closing seems to have ended that time when Machynlleth once again had a shop devoted to servicing bikes. Although the owner remains open to having someone else continue to operate the shop.
He added on social media: “If you would like to run your own shop, I’m open to discussing this. This would include any remaining stock and full workshop.”
