The Mid Wales Autumn Fayre will host several new food and drink producers.

The event, scheduled for October 5 and 6 at the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd, promises a variety of activities including crafts, music, vintage vehicles, cooking demonstrations, and a food and drink showcase.

The showground’s well-known Food Hall will feature several companies new to the retail scene.

Five of these companies are set to exhibit and trade under the guidance of Cywain, a Welsh government-funded programme that offers support and advice to budding food and drink businesses in Wales.

Ynyr Roberts, Cywain's marketing and events team leader, said: "The Mid Wales Autumn Fayre is a new opportunity for Cywain to provide some exciting emerging food and drink businesses with important test trading experience before a large public audience eager to try something new."

He added: "Such opportunities are part of Cywain’s portfolio of support available for businesses throughout their growth journey, from day one start-ups to more established enterprises."

On the first day of the Autumn Fayre, Tired Mums Coffee, Best of Hungary, Slowly, and Smashed Cow Sauces will be present at the Cywain stand.

On the following day, Mami Maggie’s Recipes will join Tired Mums Coffee and Best of Hungary.

Tired Mums Coffee, a Wrexham-based business founded by two mothers, will showcase three of their coffee blends.

The company, which donates one per cent of all coffee sales to charities supporting parents, aims to be a sustainable coffee brand that boosts the motherhood experience.

Best of Hungary, a food company started by a mother-and-son duo in Aberystwyth, will make its Welsh debut at the Autumn Fayre.

The company, which sources all products directly from producers, will showcase their 3* Great Taste Award-winning Acacia Honey and a new Goulash Soup Spice Mix.

Slowly, a mushroom-growing business started less than a year ago by Zach Odum, will also be present at the event.

The company, which currently grows varieties of oyster mushrooms, plans to expand its range to include dehydrated mushroom products.

Mr Odum, who originally hails from the USA, hopes Slowly's sustainability will eventually help boost the circular economy while contributing to the wider economy of Wales.
