A WIND weather warning has been issued for parts of North Wales this weekend.

An amber weather alert, which covers western areas of mid Wales including Machynlleth and the coast, will be in place from 9am on Sunday (September 29).

The warning will be in place until midnight.

The Met Office said it expected gusts of up to 60mph, with potential travel disruption and power cuts, as well as large waves on the coastline.

"This will be accompanied by outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, which could lead to some surface water and spray.

“Winds will gradually ease across Wales and inland parts of southwest England through Sunday evening and night, but it may remain fairly windy along some coasts of southern and southwestern England during Sunday night."
