Trains in Machynlleth have been hit with disruptions as a result of heavy rain in Powys over the past few days.
Following a period of heavy rain in Mid Wales, flooding has caused some disruptions to train services in Machynlleth on Friday, September 27.
Transport for Wales have added a notification via JourneyCheck to say that there have been “alterations” to the service between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.
The notification said: “There are alterations to this service are due to heavy rain flooding the railway.

“Road transport has been arranged with Lloyds Coaches to meet the incoming service at Machynlleth at 0848 and run all stations to Aberystwyth. Lloyds will also run 0829 Aberystwyth all stations to Machynlleth.”
Lloyds Coaches confirmed via their social media pages that they will be accepting train tickets for travel between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth on TrawsCymru services T2 and T28 today.
As well as flooding in Wales causing some disruptions, Transport for Wales added that flooding in England is also impacting services in Powys due to fewer trains being able to run.
They added: “Due to flooding, we currently have trains stuck on the other side of the flood water. As a result, we are currently short of trains to run between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. Services may have to terminate at Machynlleth or be cancelled all together.
“To assist your journey, Lloyds of Machynlleth will accept your ticket for travel on the T2 and T28 bus service between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth. Lloyds have also stand by buses who will run as required throughout the day.”
