New research has revealed that fans of TNS will pay the fourth highest average price for a beer out of all UK and Irish clubs competing in Europe this season, higher than the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United fans.

The study from football betting tips, predictions, and news site Footy Accumulators, aims to find the average price of a pint that UK and Irish football fans will have to pay when following their side around Europe this season.

To do so, they calculated the average price of a pint at each location where the 13 British and Irish teams competing in Europe’s three competitions will be playing their European away matches, with the Conference League teams having one less away game.

OTHER NEWS:

Fans of the Saints, who will be competing in the UEFA Conference League for the first time, can expect to pay on average £4.17 for a pint during their European travels this season, which is the fourth highest among all UK and Irish teams competing in Europe.

The Welsh side's most expensive beers will be bought at their closest game against Shamrock Rovers - TNS fans can expect to pay an estimated £5.69 for a beer (or Guinness) in Dublin.

The Saints' first away game against Fiorentina will also set fans back around £5.06 for a pint, but there is better news for fans who travel to Slovenia for the game against NK Celje in December, as they will pay just £1.77 per pint.

Studies show that the average fan drinks 3.6 pints of beer when watching football. For TNS fans heading on all three away trips, that means they will spend a total of £45.07 on booze.

The full study revealed that Shamrock Rovers fans will have to fork out the most money for a pint of all UK and Irish teams in Europe. The average price of a pint for the Irish side’s three away games comes in at a hefty £5, and they will spend an estimated total of £56.56 on booze.

In second place is Aston Villa, whose fans will fork out on average £4.85 per pint. Over the course of their Champions League journey, the total cost of drinking at each away game reaches £69.80, the highest total of any UK or Irish team in Europe. This includes an eye-watering £6.74 when Villa face Monaco in January.

Rangers rank in third place and fans can expect to pay an average price of £4.84 for a pint across their four away games. The most expensive beer for Gers fans will be their first away game in Malmo, which will set fans back an estimated £5.95, and if they are to enjoy a few pints at each away game their total spend will be £69.74.
