A BERRIEW man will be sentenced for causing a motorcyclist serious injury on the A483 in 2022 after he pleaded guilty.
Owain Wright, 23 and of Middle House in Berriew, pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention on Tuesday, September 24.
His plea relates to an incident on November 15, 2022 when he collided with Oliver Pugh on the junction of the A483 and the B4390 near Berriew.

He had initially been charged with causing serious injury by driving dangerously but a lesser charge was confirmed in court.
Prosecution solicitor Helen Tench told the court that at around 7.30am on the day in question, police were told that a road traffic collision has occurred on the A483 between a black Vauxhall Astra and a Yamaha motorcycle.

It was reported that there was an injured party ‘who was in a bad way’.
Ms Tench continued to say that at the scene Wright was interviewed and he said that the motorcyclist went over his car and then hobbled to the pavement.
However, Mr Pugh, the motorcyclist, was not interview at the scene but when police did speak to him, said he saw the car and it pulled out into him.
Ms Tench added that Mr Pugh was left with injuries internally and to his ankle and hands.
The court also heard that Wright told Wright that ‘he intended to pull out right when his views were both clear’.
He said he had his headlights on as did the motorcyclist, according to Ms Tench.
Robert Hanratty, defending, asked for an adjournment for a pre-sentence report and Wright will return to Welshpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 22.
He was also given an interim driving ban.
