HEAVY rain will disrupt much of Powys on Thursday and Friday as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.
From Montgomery and below – including Newtown – there is a warning in place from 5pm on Thursday afternoon through to 10am on Friday morning.
Welshpool will remain on the edge of the yellow warning but residents in the area are being warned to expect heavy rain.

Powys residents are being warned to expect flooding from a weather warning that covers all of the Midlands, South Wales, South West and South East England.

A Met Office spokesman said: “There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses plus a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

“Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
“Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
“There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads.
“There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.”
