A POWYS man is to face trial over causing the death of another man, who died after being thrown out of a car in the Brecon Beacons when the vehicle overturned.
Craig Thomas, 51, appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 20, but entered no plea to a charge of causing the death of Lee Sullivan by driving without due care and attention, while unfit through drugs.
Thomas, of Cwrt Tarrell, Brecon, was said to have been driving a Ford Focus on the A470 between Storey Arms and Brecon on March 22, 2023, when the accident occurred. Mr Sullivan, who was believed to be a passenger in the car, died at the scene.
Thomas also faces a second charge of driving without a licence.
The case was adjourned and is set for trial at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, where Thomas will make an initial appearance on Friday, October 18. He was granted unconditional bail until that date.
