A FALLEN tree has closed a major route in Powys, with police advising motorists to avoid the area.
The A470 near Builth Wells was closed just before midday. Motorists arriving into Builth from the north of the county were being diverted from turning left at the Wyeside Arts Centre towards Brecon, with a 'Police Incident' sign in place.
Dyfed Powys Police said a tree had fallen between Llansteffan and Erwood.
“The road is currently closed due to a fallen tree,” police posted on their social media channels at 11.52am.
“Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.”
