AN “emergency incident” has closed a road in Powys, north of Newtown.
Police say the B4389 near New Mills is closed, with the incident first reported shortly after 7am this morning.
“The B4389 between Bryn Penarth to New Mills is currently closed due to an emergency incident,” Dyfed Powys Police tweeted at 8.03am.
“Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.”
Traffic monitoring website Inrix said: “The B4389 both ways is closed due to a police incident from the Manafon turn-off to Cefn Coch turn-off. Traffic is coping well.”
Llanfair Caereinion secondary school Ysgol Bro Caereinion posted on its Facebook page just before 8am about the incident, informing parents that buses were running late due to the incident.
“The road between New Mills and Llanfair Caereinion is currently closed,” said the school.
“Therefore, some school buses are running late. Apologies for the inconvenience.”
