A Powys caravan park is hoping to increase its business by adding nine new pitches and through expanding its site in Machynlleth.

A planning application submitted to Powys County Council by Bryn Tudor Caravan Park in Penegoes, near Machynlleth, is seeking permission to expand the park’s site to incorporate nine new static caravan pitches in the campgrounds.

The application was submitted to Powys council in August and verified by the planning department September 16. It is now pending consideration over whether the council will approve the proposal or not.

As well as seeking approval for the nine new pitches, the application adds that it is also looking to create parking and package treatment plant together with associated works to support the new pitches.

OTHER NEWS:

The owners of the park have stated in the proposal that the area they plan to add nine new pitches to is “right next to the existing caravan” that requires “very little adaptation” to turn into an extended part of the park.

The application says: “Bryntudur is a Family run farm and caravan site business. The business is looking to increase its diversification and put more emphases on the static caravan side of the business.

“The current site is a well-established part of the farm and family business for over twenty years. With the increasing popularity of holidaying in this country there is a high demand and the current site and set up would lend itself very well to being expanded without being prominent or visible from easily accessible public areas.

“The chosen area for the additional nine units is right next to the existing caravans in a natural depression in the landscape. Very little adaptation is required to enable the extended site.

“A Pre-App was submitted to gauge feasibility the overall response was positive and therefore we are progressing with this full application.”
