LLANDRINDOD Wells’ new butcher has expressed his thanks to customers following an “amazing” first week in business.
Marcus Green opened Prime Meats Wales on Friday, September 6, in Llandrindod – which gave residents in the spa town a butcher shop for the first time in 18 months.
“Just a huge thank you from all the team at Prime Meats for everyone who has supported our shop this week, it’s been amazing,” the shop said in a post on its Facebook page on Saturday, September 14.
“We will continue you to bring you the best of deals every week. The pies have been a huge success. Sold out every day; the word is getting out.
“These are absolutely gorgeous pies. If you have not tried them come on and try one, satisfaction guaranteed.”

That last statement certainly seems to be true, judging by the comments Marcus’ post attracted.
Lorraine Simcock said “The pies are delicious”, while Christine Duncombe added: “The pies are absolutely delicious, full of tender meat.”
Having been open just over a week, Prime Meats are already putting themselves in prime position ahead of the busy Christmas period, which is a little over three months away, and they have opened ordering for the festive period.
“Well, just 14 weeks to Christmas we have opened our Christmas order book,” added the post.
“We expect a lot of interest, we have put some fabulous hampers together. If it’s not a hamper you’re looking for we are also taking orders for turkeys, turkey crowns, beef roasting joints, rib of beef, ducks, geese, pork with crackling and gammon joints.”

In response to another comment from one potential customer, Prime Meats Wales revealed they can also deliver, including to Builth Wells.
Prime Meats Wales is located on Temple Street and the shop opening provides Llandrindod with a butcher shop for the first time since February 2023, when the long-standing J Williams and Son Butchers shut following decades of providing quality service to locals.
The new shop is open 8am-4pm Monday to Friday and 8am-2pm Saturdays.
