The event was founded in 2018 by Jason McCauley as a way to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance and has continued to raise money for several charities in the years since.

On this year’s event, Mr McCauley said: “Drawing enthusiasts from far and wide, this event is a celebration of automotive passion and community spirit.

“There’s hundreds of gleaming cars, each one a testament to its owner’s pride and joy, converge upon Machynlleth, transforming the town into a vibrant showcase of horsepower and heritage. From timeless classics to cutting-edge supercars like Lamborghinis and McLarens, the diversity of vehicles on display is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

“But this event is about more than just admiring sleek designs and roaring engines. It’s about making a difference. Over the years, this gathering of car enthusiasts has raised over £30,000 for life-saving charities, proving that our love for cars can drive positive change in the world.

“Then, as the engines roar to life, the convoy embarks on a thrilling 50-mile journey across some of Wales’ most breathtaking roads. Along the way, hundreds of spectators line the streets, waving in admiration as the procession of cars rumbles by.”

The last event in 2023 proved to be a record breaking year for the event, a few extra fundraising activities before the main drive which included the chance for a visitor to ride along as a passenger in an Aston Martin and three Cadbury’s Cream Egg vehicles were on site, selling Cream Eggs to add to the fundraising pot.
