Police have confirmed that a motorcyclist has died in a crash in Powys.

Dyfed-Powys Police have appealed for witnesses to a crash this morning (September 16) that led to the death of a motorcyclist.

The crash which took place near Llandrinio at just gone 7am saw a collision of a van and a black Kawasaki motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large emergency services presence in the area and Police closed the road advising motorists to avoid the area.

Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that sadly the rider died at the scene and that the road will remain closed this afternoon while investigations are underway.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a road traffic collision on the B4393 near Llandrinio bridge at around 7.20am on Monday, 16 September.

“The collision involved a white Vauxhall van and a black Kawasaki motorcycle. Sadly, the rider died at the scene.

“Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“The road is expected to remain closed until later this afternoon whilst officers carry out their investigation.

“Anyone who may have been travelling along the B4393 near Llandrinio bridge at the time, is asked to contact police.

“Investigating officers would particularly like to speak to any motorists who were in the area at that time who have dash cam in their vehicles.”
