Fire crews were called out to the Powys border after an electrical cable set fire to a field.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to a field near Bishop’s Castle after a fallen electrical cable sparked a fire yesterday morning (September 15).
The Bishop’s Castle crew were called to the fire on Stank Lane late in the morning and had to extinguish the fire.

The fire crew were joined at the scene by a utility company who had to make the downed powerline safe.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 11:15 on Sunday, September 15, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Bishops Castle.
“One fire appliance was mobilised from Bishops Castle.
“Crews used Knapsacks to tackle the fire. Also at the scene of the incident were a utility company.
“There was a Fire in field caused by electricity cable down which was extinguished by fire service.”
