A disqualified driver will stand trial after pleading not guilty to charges that he allegedly attempted to drive a van while three times the legal limit.
Gregory Rylowicz, 40, denied two charges relating to an incident near Llanfair Caereinion that happened on Sunday, August 25.
Welshpool Magistrates' Court was told the Birmingham man chose to have a trial because he did not accept that he tried to drive a Peugeot Partner van along the A495.

He is charged with attempting to drive a motor vehicle after drinking so much alcohol that a breath test revealed that he had 108 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath which was over the 35mcg limit. Rylowicz also denies driving whilst disqualified.
Chair of the magistrates' bench Nerys Jones fixed a two-hour trial to take place on October 30 at Welshpool Magistrates' Court.
Rylowicz, of Dormington Road, Birmingham, was given unconditional bail to return to court for his trial.
