A housing development has brought almost £11,000 worth of community benefits to Llandrindod Wells.
The Ithon Road development, led by Newydd Housing Association in collaboration with Powys County Council, has seen contractor Hale Group undertake several community projects.
The projects funded by Hale Group include the refurbishment of community spaces, improvements to schools, and the replacement of cemetery benches.
They also provided new uniforms and a Christmas meal for volunteers at Ysgol Trefonnen School as part of the Community Fridge initiative.
Maintenance and painting work was carried out at Ysgol Penmaes Satellite Provision and Crossgates Primary School.
A boiler was replaced at Celf o Gwmpas, and the toilet block at Llanyre Park was refurbished.
All work was completed to the highest standards, covering both labour and materials.
Rhodri Boosey, contracts manager at Hale Group, said: "It’s been a pleasure to work with Newydd to support local community projects over the last few years, in line with our Ithon Road development.
"The duration of the multi-phased project has provided us with the excellent opportunity to leave long-term tangible legacies within Llandrindod Wells."

Councillor Jake Berriman, cabinet member for a connected Powys, said: "I have had the pleasure of working closely with both Hale and Newydd since I was first elected in 2019.
"They have always been quick to address concerns I have raised on behalf of residents and to engage proactively in respect of this later phase of development to ensure that the potential impacts on existing residents was minimised.
"But, more than that, they have made a point of reaching out to me as a local councillor to help identify projects that they could invest in to make a positive impact on and leave a lasting legacy for, the local community.
"Initially, this was by refurbishing the cemetery lychgate and railings and, on this occasion, replacing dilapidated benches for the benefit of those visiting the cemetery site.
"The positive feedback I have received confirms that their generosity of spirit (and funds) has been gratefully received."
Rachel Honey-Jones, head of community regeneration at Newydd Housing Association, said: "We are delighted to see the positive impact these community projects have had in Llandrindod Wells.
"The Ithon Road development has always been about more than just providing quality housing—it’s also about investing in the community.
"We would like to thank Hale Group who have worked hard to make a lasting positive impact in the area."
The Ithon Road development will provide 79 homes for affordable rent to local people.
Funded in part by the Welsh Government Social Housing Grant, the development will offer a mix of 1-bedroom apartments, 2-bedroom bungalows, and 2, 3, and 4-bedroom houses.
These homes are in addition to the 55 homes on Ithon Road already completed by Newydd in 2021.
People who are interested in renting these properties are encouraged to register with Homes in Powys to apply.
