Multiple general practises and surgeries in Powys will be closed for an afternoon later this month during a training session.
Several medical practises within Powys have announced they will be closed after 12pm on Tuesday, September 17, for a “protected learning” time session organised by Powys Teaching Health Board.
The training afternoon will see Llanidloes and Caersws surgery closed for the afternoon, as well as Llanfair Caereinion Medical Practice and Llanfyllin Group Practice.

As well as the surgeries themselves, phone lines for the practises will close at 12pm and patients will not be able to collect prescriptions or medication after 12pm.
The Llanfyllin practise said that patients who need urgent care on the afternoon whilst the practice is closed should contact Shropdoc on 01743 455 364.
Meanwhile, Llanfair Caereinion Medical Practice advised patients in need of urgent care during the closure to phone 111.
Patients of Arwystli Medical Practice in Llanidloes and Caersws have been advised by the surgery to call Welshpool Hospital on 01938 553133 or Llandrindod Wells Hospital on 01597 822 951 if they need care during the closure.
