An award-winning brewery has received a significant investment to help with ambitious growth plans.
Monty's Brewery, based in Montgomery, Powys, has announced that Welshpool businessman and TNS owner Mike Harris has acquired a 51 per cent stake in the company.
The brewery, which has won numerous awards for its Welsh beers, ales, and stouts, including the Made in Wales Award and a Gold Award in the Wales and West SIBA competition, will continue to produce all its current products and is planning for national expansion.
The acquisition is the first brewing venture for Mr Harris's investment company, Ubuntu Holdings Ltd.
Mr Harris, who is also the chairman of The New Saints FC, said: "This is a really exciting day for both myself and the team at Ubuntu Holdings Ltd.
"Monty’s Brewery has an excellent range of products on offer, frequently enjoyed by those across Powys and beyond.
"As one of the region’s most popular breweries, I’m excited to help Monty’s Brewery increase production and distribution on a national scale."
Mr Harris's investment company, Ubuntu Holdings Ltd, has been expanding its operations across Wales.
It also recently acquired the award-winning Welshpool distillery, Henstone Distillery.

"We are looking forward to sharing our multi-award winning beers with a wider audience and creating new products to add to The Monty’s Range."
With this new investment, Monty's Brewery is set to continue its production of ales, stouts, and gluten-free beers, and is looking forward to expanding its reach on a national scale.
