A GRATEFUL grandfather from Powys has thanked a Birmingham hospital for the life-saving operation on his beloved granddaughter.
Graham Meredith from Welshpool served as captain of Garthmyl's Lakeside Golf Club last year and had no doubt which charity would be recognised as his official one for his tenure on office.

As such golfers at the village club raised a staggering £8,356 in aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital to thank the staff for their amazing support after Eva Meredith underwent successful open heart surgery as a seven-month-old baby.
Now aged seven, Ava accompanied her grandfather to present a cheque to Ashley Adams of Birmingham Children's Hospital earlier this month.

Graham said: "We wanted to thank the hospital and its wonderful staff for all they did for Ava as a baby and continue to do for so many families. Thanks to all the people who contributed throughout the year."
