Multiple crews were called to a property fire in Powys this morning.

Fire crews from Llanwrtyd Wells, Builth Wells and Llandovery were called to an electrical fire at a property in Llanwrtyd Wells.

According to Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service the fire is thought to have started in the living room of the property.

When crews arrived they needed to use specialise equipment to put out the fire including thermal imaging cameras.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 6.38am on Thursday, September 5, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Llanwrtyd Wells, Llandovery and Builth Wells Fire Station were called to an incident at Tyn y Maes in Llanwrtyd Wells.

“Crew members responded to an electrical fire in the downstairs living room. Crews utilised 4 breathing apparatus sets, one hose reel jet, one positive pressure ventilation fans, three thermal imaging cameras and use of small gear to extinguish the fire.

“Owners were advised to contact an electrician to attend the property to ensure safe use of electrics.

“Crews left the scene at 7.41am.”
