AN Albanian man has appeared in court charged with producing cannabis after police raided a town centre property in Welshpool this week.
Kastriot Gega, 27, was arrested on Tuesday, September 3, when police executed a search warrant at the former County Times office, just off Broad Street.
Gega, of no fixed abode, appeared at Mold Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 5, where he entered no plea to a charge of producing cannabis in Welshpool between August 19 and September 3.
Both the prosecution and Gega’s representative agreed that the case was not suitable to be heard in the lower court, so magistrates sent it to the crown court.
Gega is due to appear at Mold Crown Court on October 4. They remanded him into custody until that date.
