Top Welsh chefs are set to headline a host of new attractions at this year's Mid Wales Autumn Fayre.

The highly anticipated weekend will be action-packed with family fun, including live cooking demonstrations by the National and Junior Chefs of Wales, Josh Morris and Sam Everton.

These culinary maestros will have a busy weekend in the live kitchen theatre in the Food Hall, showcasing a wide range of artisan food and drink offerings from across Wales.

The two-day event, happening on October 5 and 6, will take place at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells.

This year, the fayre is introducing live music on the Saturday night.

Local acts such as New Rivals, Rock Ewes and soloist Rebecca Strickland will kick off the evening of music and entertainment.

In addition to the fun, attendees can feast on affordable Grab & Go street food and refresh themselves at the bar which offers a wide range of beers, lagers, and other drinks throughout the weekend.

Aside from food and drink, the Fayre also promises a series of new live displays.

These include displays by The Welsh Axemen, Quack Pack, Thomas Chainsaw Carving, Paul Melton Hawks and mobile escape rooms from Beyond Breakout.

The new Kid's Autumn Zone will feature a range of attractions such as Will's Petting Farm, pumpkin picking and painting courtesy of a graffiti artist, face painting, and even pedal tractors.

On top of that, there's a new kids sports activities zone that will keep the children busy.

Adding more excitement, Builth Wells’ rally driver, Jason Pritchard will bring his GR Yaris Rally2 car.

And for those needing some respite, the Love2Stay Relaxation Zone will be offering massages.

There will also be a wide range of arts and crafts stalls and workshops.

Crafters will be taking commissions, encouraging visitors to start their Christmas shopping with unique gifts.

The fayre is also expecting more than 100 trucks and truckers.

The Mid Wales Autumn Fayre & Truck Feast will host a bigger RC Truckers Showcase and a vintage vehicle show featuring tractors, bikes and cars.

Arwyn Watkins, OBE, Mid Wales Fayres executive chairman said: "The concept of the Mid Wales Autumn Fayre is to hold an exciting, affordable family event that extends the tourism season by attracting thousands of visitors to the region.

"We also hold the event to promote quality Welsh food and drink products, arts and crafts and the fantastic culinary and butchery skills that we have in the region and across Wales.

"This year’s event will be the best yet, with a series of new attractions, including live music."
