The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain affecting parts of Mid Wales over the next few days.
Parts of Powys and Brecon will be hit by heavy rain, starting on the evening of Wednesday, September 4, according to a weather warning issued by the Met Office.
Expected to continue into Thursday and Friday, the rain is expected to hit southern Powys and Brecon, as conditions are expected to move across Southern Wales and England over the course of three days this week.
The warning says: “Some parts missing the worst, but heavy rain becomes more extensive Wednesday night and especially Thursday, with some flooding impacts.

“Not all areas will be affected, but scattered heavy showers on Wednesday night are expected to merge into longer spells of heavy, perhaps thundery rain overnight and through Thursday.
“Where heavy downpours occur, 20-40 mm are possible within an hour or two. Over a longer period a few places could see more than 50-60 mm, possibly even as much as 80 to 100 mm if repeated batches of heavy rain affect the same locations - this perhaps more likely during the second half of Thursday.”
Residents living in the areas are advised by the Met Office that they could expect spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
The warning adds that there is a “small chance” that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings, and of fast-flowing or deep floodwater.
If flooding does occur, there would also be a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
