Railway journeys have been disrupted between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth after a person was hit by a train between the two towns.
Train services along the Cambrian line are facing cancellations and delays throughout the afternoon on Wednesday, August 28.
Dyfed Powys Police said the person was struck by the train at around 3.30pm, with a stretch of the A44 in Aberystwyth being closed while emergency services dealt with the scene, as well as train lines in the area.

In a statement, the emergency service said: "Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a casualty on the train tracks between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth at 3.30pm.
"Our officers are at scene and the road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident effectively, and reopened at about 4.25pm."
Transport for Wales alerted travellers to the incident at 3.45pm. The railway service said: “Due to a person being hit by a train between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth the line is blocked.

Disruption between the two stations is expected until at least 6pm, with a replacement bus service running between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth in the meantime.
