A POWYS man will go to trial at the crown court after he denied a charge of making an indecent image of a child this week.
Anthony Lewis, 24, pleaded not guilty at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 28, to making one Category A indecent image of a child, said to be a video.
The offence dates back to March 14, 2021.
Lewis, of Joe Deakins Road, Presteigne, did admit a second charge of breaching a sexual harm prevention order, between December 12, 2022, and February 7, 2023.
James Sprunks, prosecuting, and Gurleen Kaur, representing the defendant, both agreed the case was not suitable to be dealt with at the lower court.
Magistrates formally declined jurisdiction of the matter and sent the case to Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, where Lewis is set to make an initial appearance on September 25.
