A NEWTOWN man has admitted assaulting two police officers at a Powys pub and has been told to return to court for sentencing next month.
Robert Hampton, 58, admitted two counts of assaulting an emergency worker when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 27.
Hampton, of Llanllwchaiarn Road, Newtown, admitted assaults on Dyfed-Powys Police officers PC Woosnam and PC Jones at The Dragon Inn Hotel, in Montgomery, on February 17 this year.
Magistrates adjourned his case this week so that a pre-sentence report can be carried out. He will return to court to be sentenced on September 24.
