A number of trunk roads in the area are set to be shut for periods of time in the coming months for work.
The Welsh Ministers have proposed that in no less than seven days, an order will be in place under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
This move is necessary to undertake works on or near the A470 trunk road at Moat Lane level crossing, Caersws, and the A458 trunk road at Buttington level crossing, Buttington, Powys.
Vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from using certain lengths of the roads.
These sections include the A470 that extends for 20 metres on either side of Moat Lane level crossing, and the equivalent lengths surrounding Buttington level crossing on the A458.
This application was revealed on the Public Notice Portal.
During the weekend closures (from 10pm on Saturdays until 9am on Sundays, and from 10pm on Sundays until 6am on Mondays), alternative routes will be provided for both southbound and northbound traffic.
For the remaining periods, other alternate routes will be made available.
For instance, along the A489 to Newtown, along the A483 to Crossgates and along the A44 to Rhayader for southbound traffic.

The same goes for the section of the A458 at Buttington level crossing.
Westbound vehicles, for example, will be redirected via the southbound B4388, westbound B4381 Leighton Road, northbound A483 and eastbound A458: and vice versa for eastbound vehicles.
The Order will come into force on September 20, 2024.
The temporary prohibition is expected to intermittently operate from this date for a maximum duration of 18 months.
Prior notifications of all closures during this period will be displayed before they start.
