THE case of a Powys man charged with drug driving has been delayed because he claims his coffee may have been spiked.
Simon Lee Paul, 44, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court this week charged with driving while having cocaine in his system.
Paul, of Dinas, Newtown, was stopped by police in town on February 7. He was driving a yellow Seat on Llanidloes Road when he was stopped.

A roadside test showed Paul had 76 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine (BZE), a compound of cocaine, in his blood – the legal limit for BZE is 50 micrograms.
Paul entered a guilty plea to the charge on Tuesday, August 20, but said he wished to put forward a special reasons argument before he is sentenced.
Magistrates adjourned the case until September 30.
