More than a quarter of pupils got five A grades or higher in their GCSEs at a Powys school.
Ysgol Llanfyllin is celebrating after 28 percent of all their pupils got top grades following a successful A-level results day last week.
Headteacher Dewi Owen praised the work of the pupils at the school and said it reflected their excellent work ethic.
“Our wonderful students have once again achieved amazing GCSE results that give a great foundation to move onto further education or the world of work,” said Mr Owen.
“Students also achieved excellent qualifications in other subjects such as Personal Finance, Work Related Education and the Welsh Baccalaureate.
“We are incredibly proud of their achievements and we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all our students, families and staff members for their hard work, dedication and professionalism.”
“These results not only reflect the excellent effort and attitude of the students but also the hard work and diligence shown by our highly committed staff, supported and encouraged by parents and governors.”

The school also hailed “outstanding individual achievements” with five students being awarded exclusively A* and A grades.
Dylan Marsden-Mosebury managed to achieve twelve A*s and one A grade. Annabel Quance was just as impressive eleven A*s and two As, Charlie Owen earned ten A*s and three As
While Bethan Docherty achieved eight A* and five As while Glesni Woodman picked up seven A*s and seven As.
“118 (97 per cent) of our students achieved at least five A* to G grades with 79 per cent of them achieving at least five A* to C grades or equivalent – an amazing achievement by all,” added Mr Owen.
“This strength in our working partnership bodes well for the future as so many of our pupils return in September to embark on Post 16 courses in the school’s outstanding Canolfan Chweched Sixth Form Centre.
“Llongyfarchiadau pawb – we are incredibly proud of you all.”
