Landowners in Powys could play a crucial role in shaping the county's development plan, Powys Council has announced.

The council is replacing its Local Development Plan (LDP) adopted in April 2018, which is set to expire in 2026.

The new LDP, which will go up to 2037, is now subject to public input.

Powys Council intends for the new LDP to be adopted by September 2027, following some delays.

In the meantime, a six-week consultation period has been launched, which will run until early October 2024.

This aims to address the council's preferred strategy for the LDP and give landowners the chance to share suggestions for land which could make a good development location.

This isn't just about housing.

The council is considering all forms of development, whether it be warehouses, campsites, or solar farms.

As a result, landowners in Montgomeryshire, Radnorshire, or Brecknockshire are encouraged to participate.

The best way for people to get involved is for them to go through Berrys.

This company can provide support in choosing possible development sites and advice on suitable development forms.

Berrys would bundle up the information and submit the site on behalf of the landowner.
