Pupils at Welshpool High School were among the sixth formers across the UK picking up their A-Level results.
Alongside Year 13 pupils from across Powys and all over the UK, Welshpool High School pupils returned to school on August 15 to collect the results from their exams and coursework taken earlier in the year.
Headteacher Jon Arnold said: said: “Well done to all our Sixth Form students on another strong set of A-Level results this year. We are extremely proud of you all.
“These results reflect the enormous hard work and commitment of our students. It was a pleasure to see them collecting their results today, and to appreciate the amazing young adults they have become during their time at the school.
“Notable achievements include Tomos Haine (A*, 2 A’s), Gwen Kuipers (3 A’s), Sam Cadwallader (3 A’s), Holly Davies (A*, 2 A’s, 2 B’s), Alan Wiltshire-Fessey (Distinction*, A*, A), Elen Jones (3 A’s, B).

“Many students will go on to study at university or take up apprenticeships, with destinations that include Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester and Aberystwyth.”
Several students had already got the news that they had been accepted into their university of choice, taking some pressure off the results themselves.
Pupil Tomos Haine said: “I’m very relieved. I’d already checked to see if I’d gotten into the uni I wanted so the whole day has been a lot of relieving news.
"It makes the whole process of picking up the actual results exciting rather than nervous since I at least know it’s gone well.”
Head girl Maddie Wilson brought a cake to congratulate but also commiserate some of her fellow students.
She said: “It’s been great to finally find out how it all went, and I’m really happy with the results.
"I had this little task of bringing a cake along just as a way to sign out as head girl, some nice little thing to do for people who are celebrating but also people who might be disappointed for whatever reason.”
Mr Arnold added: “We would also like to thank parents and carers whose support has enabled our students to achieve so much.
"This, alongside the guidance and help from staff at the school, has given the young people within our community the best possible chances to fulfil their potential and succeed in their chosen career paths.
“Everyone associated with the school would like to congratulate the students and wish them all the very best for the future.”
