Two teams from Old Railway Line Garden Centre in Brecon have raised thousands of pounds for charity by taking on different challenges.

The teams committed themselves to stage a fundraiser for notable charities #BeMoreFrank and the Ewings Sarcoma Research Trust.

Team One took on a 15-mile hike over the Brecon Beacons, completing the challenge in 9.5 hours and successfully raising more than £3,000.

Garden retail director, Liam Cleary, praised the team, saying: "The determination and teamwork shown by Team One were amazing to see.

"We faced challenging conditions but were motivated by the cause and the incredible support from the generous people who have sponsored us.

"It’s heartening to see everyone come together for such worthy charities, and I’m confident Team Two will be successful in completing the challenge this Saturday too."

Marketing director, Joe Aldworth added, "We are overwhelmed by the support and generosity we’ve received so far.

"The dedication and spirit of our team, coupled with the community’s contributions, are truly inspiring.

"We are excited to see Team Two take on the challenge and further our efforts for these incredible causes."

After the successful completion of the first challenge, the second team took on a similar task and managed to raise the total to more than £3,500.

They completed a 15-mile sponsored walk.

Operations director, Katie Eckley, praised the team's spirit, saying: "Team Two faced exceptionally challenging weather conditions, yet we pushed through with unwavering commitment.

"Their dedication, combined with the generosity of our supporters, means these vital funds will make a real difference to those affected by cancer.

"We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed."

Retail & event manager, Matt Lewis, added: "The community’s ongoing support has been nothing short of extraordinary.

"Surpassing £3,500 reflects the hard work and determination of both teams, as well as the incredible generosity of those who have sponsored us.

"With our Facebook and in-store auction now live, we’re hopeful we can raise even more for these important causes."

The funds raised go to boost the efforts of #BeMoreFrank, a specially named fund of the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, which seeks to support families with a child diagnosed with cancer.

The second charity, the Ewings Sarcoma Research Trust, focuses on improving treatment and outcomes for patients afflicted with Ewing’s Sarcoma.

In light of these fundraising efforts, the Old Railway Line Garden Centre has launched an auction featuring a signed Hereford FC football and a family ticket to a game this season.

The auction is live in-store and on their Facebook page, with all proceeds going directly to the two charities.
